PSA Grading Predictor — Know Your Grade Before You Submit
PSA grading is the gold standard in trading card authentication, with millions of cards submitted annually. A high PSA grade can multiply your card's value 5x-50x, but submitting a card that comes back as a PSA 7 when you expected a PSA 9 means wasted grading fees and months of lost time. Our AI-powered PSA grading predictor analyzes your card before you submit, giving you a detailed probability matrix for every possible grade from PSA 1 through Gem Mint 10, so you only pay for PSA grading when the ROI makes sense.
How Our PSA Grading Predictor Works
Three simple steps to know your card's PSA grade potential before spending a dollar on submission fees.
Take clear, well-lit photos of the front and back of your trading card. Our system accepts high-resolution images that allow the AI to examine every detail accurately.
Our AI model, calibrated on over 24,000 graded cards, examines centering, corners, edges, and surface quality. It compares your card against PSA's grading standards in seconds.
Receive a full probability matrix showing the likelihood of each PSA grade, a detailed defect report, and a clear submit or hold recommendation with your Capital Score.
Understanding PSA Grades
PSA uses a 1-10 grading scale, where each grade reflects the overall condition of the card. Understanding these grades is essential for setting realistic expectations before submission.
A virtually perfect card with sharp corners, perfect centering (within 55/45 or better), pristine edges, and a flawless surface. PSA 10 cards command the highest premiums, often multiples of a PSA 9.
A superb condition card with only one minor flaw. This may include a slight centering issue (within 60/40), a tiny imperfection on the surface, or a barely noticeable corner touch. Still highly desirable in the market.
A very attractive card with minor wear visible on close inspection. Slight corner and edge wear may be present, and centering can be up to 65/35. Surface may show minor print spots or light scratching.
A card with slight surface or corner wear visible to the naked eye. There may be light edge wear, minor centering issues (up to 70/30), or a slight wax stain on the reverse. Still a solid, presentable card.
What Our AI Analyzes
Our grade prediction model evaluates the same four critical attributes that PSA graders assess by hand, delivering consistent and objective analysis.
Centering
The AI measures the border ratios on both the front and back of your card with pixel-level precision. PSA requires 55/45 or better centering for a Gem Mint 10, and 60/40 for a Mint 9. Even slight miscuts that are hard to see with the naked eye can be the difference between grades.
Corners
Corner wear is one of the most common reasons cards lose grades. Our AI detects fuzzing, blunting, and paper loss at each of the four corners. Even microscopic corner wear that looks fine to the eye can drop a card from a 10 to an 8.
Edges
Edge condition reveals handling history. The AI scans all four edges for chipping, whitening, nicks, and rough cuts. Cards with dark borders are especially sensitive to edge wear, where any whitening becomes highly visible and can significantly impact the assigned grade.
Surface
Surface quality covers scratches, print defects, staining, and gloss loss. Our AI identifies surface imperfections that graders examine under magnification, including print lines, ink dots, and roller marks that are part of the manufacturing process but still affect the final grade.
Why Use AI Before PSA Grading?
PSA grading costs between $20 and $150 per card depending on the service level and turnaround time, and that does not include shipping and insurance. Sending cards that grade lower than expected wastes money and ties up inventory for weeks or months. AI pre-screening eliminates bad PSA grading submissions.
Stop submitting cards that will grade below expectations. Our AI helps you identify which cards have genuine PSA 9 or 10 potential, so every dollar you spend on grading fees is an investment with a likely return, not a gamble.
PSA turnaround times can stretch from 20 business days to several months. Knowing your card's likely grade before submitting helps you make better decisions about which service level to choose and whether the card is worth the wait.
Collectors often overestimate their cards due to emotional attachment. Our AI provides an unbiased, data-driven assessment calibrated against real PSA grading outcomes, removing the guesswork and helping you see your cards the way a professional grader would.
